Since I already did the "dirty" work of cutting and pasting all the email addresses, which are below, you can write your own 2 sentence letter quickly and send your opinion to all 40ish Embassy contacts in about 5-10 minutes. thanks, jason please forward -------- Original-Nachricht -------- Subject: please do what you can Datum: Sun, 22 May 2011 11:00:02 +0200 Von: jfkeuro An: info at syrembassy.net, consular at syrembassy.net, ambassador at syrianembassy.gr, consular at syrianembassy.gr, Cultural at syrianembassy.gr, ambassador at syrianembassy.ca, culture at syrianembassy.ca, economic at syrianembassy.ca, info at syrianembassy.ca, consular at syrianembassy.ca, trips at syrianembassy.ca, visa at syrianembassy.ca, legalizations at syrianembassy.ca, civilstatus at syrianembassy.ca, passport at syrianembassy.ca, embanic at overnet.com.ar, info at syrianembassy.org.au, consular at syrianembassy.org.au, vienna_embassy at syrianembassy.jet2web.at, info at syrianembassy.be, embsiria at uol.com.br, consular at syrianembassy.ca, yaser-kherdaji at syriatoday.ca, syrian.consulate at hotmail.com, sy at syria.org.cn, souria at volny.cz, ambassade-syrie at wanadoo.fr, info at syrianembassy.de, ambassador at syrianembassy.gr, admin at syrianembassy.gr, syria at email.it, info at syrianembassy.co.uk, syriaemb at tm.net.my, Ali_mah at hotmail.com, embsyria at palmyra.neostrada.pl, info at syrianembassy.com.qa, syriaemb at lantic.net, mission.syria at ties.itu.int, Info at syrianembassy.ae, syrian-con-dubai at hotmail.com Dear Syrian Embassy worker, I am writing you as a worker for the Syrian government, to please do everything in your power to stop the violence and killing done in the name of Syria by your government and President Bashar al-Assad. Today I read in the Guardian that now women are the latest target of Assads violence: http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/may/21/syria-women-unrest-repression As a government worker at a Syrian power, you have much more power and influence than the average person protesting on the street in Syria, who risk their lives by using even a mobile phone to document the truth of what is happening. Please use your power to do what you can to bring justice in your country. Sincerely, Jack Horner ********** TIPS ABOUT LETTER/E-MAIL WRITING From my experience as a Vice Mayor and lobbyest, I can tell you that for the small amount of time invested by writing such an e-mail, this is really worth it. E-mail petitions are much less effective, unless they have huge numbers of signatures, which take a lot of time and effort to collect. Letters to the editor of newspapers are also great, but might not get published. Of course, demonstrations with good press work are even more effective, but take more time and energy to organise. Personal lobbying is also effective to create policy change. However, this email goes to a concrete person who will read it. Don't write more than 2-3 sentences, they don't have time to read more than that anyways. Additionally, embassy workers are outside Syria, and so enjoy more freedom to dissent, and they are able to easily contact others or a possibly long existing opposition group in the foreign country. They can share resources and valuable information, which is also often in contact with opposition at home. You can sign any name you want, in case you are worried about them checking up on you, history shows they won't. Assumed/fake names are fine as well if you are worried. So, I strongly believe that sending a complaint letter to Syrian Embassy workers is important. Please pass this on to your friends who want to do something to help people in Syria. This strategy can of course easily be duplicated. If emails bounce back to you saying the receivers mailbox is full, that is a good sign that others are doing the same like you. Just send your same email again in a few days, is only costs you 60 seconds -Jason ----- Einde doorgestuurd bericht ----- -- Stichting Falkor I.C.Y.
