Dear YNGOs,
We (World Carfree Network Europe) are currently developing a project for
the open Youth in Action call for proposals "Pilot projects for Thematic
Networking" and are searching for partners for the project.
To apply, we must secure partners in 10 countries with the following
eligibility requirements:
(1) Partner organisations must be developing a project under the "Youth
in Action" programme OR have implemented a project in the past under the
"YOUTH" programme,
(2) Partners must not have statutory connections to the applicant ( i.e.
they cannot be our own member organisations), and
(3) Partners must be in EU states or other eligible countries.
The proposed project under development:
A series of youth study-visit exchanges on the theme of Participatory
citizenship of young people in urban revitalisation will be aimed at:
(1) training young people who have been involved in participatory
citizenship themed youth exchanges in the past, (2) providing young
people with opportunities to experience the real results of projects
where youth were involved in revitalising/improving the urban
environment in their communities, and (3) developing an online community
where these youth can pool resources, exchange ideas, obtain and share
resources, and find partners for new initiatives. Participants would be
recruited by partners and would be young people who have participated
(or are participating) in the partners' previous YOUTH programme (or
current "Youth in Action" programme) initiative projects. While all
study visits will be on the theme of Participatory citizenship of young
people in urban revitalisation, one will focus specifically on
connections between mobility issues and social justice.
What we need:
1. Partners in 10+ countries (must have done a YOUTH programme project
or be doing a Youth in Action project, and must NOT be WCNE member orgs).
2. Locations for the study visit-exchanges (a community where youth have
successfully been involved in revitilising the urban environment in some
way).
What to do:
If your organisation would like to be a partner in this project, please
contact Christi Brooks at cbrooks@worldcarfree.net.
Please not that these activities are dependent on a successful proposal
and will not take place unless the grant is secured.
Thank you for your interest!
Best regards
