Footprints Summer Festival & Street parade, July 8 & 9th Tbilisi

Sometimes it is time for fresh air, new energy and action! We, students an=
d young volunteers from
different schools, universities and non-profit organizations are organizin=
g a two day festival on
July 8 and 9th, celebrating summer and our ability to make choices in life=
.

We would like to invite you to come to Mziuri Park on Saturday July 8th. F=
rom 14.00-20.00 we will
have bands such as Sopho Aslanishvili, Nebo CCCP, REMA and Nina=92s dimens=
ion (bands start at 17.00),
an open air art gallery, an info market where all sorts of youth projects=
 and non profit
organizations working for youth, human rights and the environment will pre=
sent themselves. Join us
and get informed and entertained!

On July 9th we are taking the streets! With a colorful parade of people on=
 bicycles, skateboards
and boots, joined by banners and music, we will show that WE CARE! We Care=
 about our environment,
the city we live in, the air we breathe! Join us at 2 o clock in front of=
 the City Council House
for this festive parade along Rustaveli Avenue. Will we end our parade on =
Republic Square with folk
music, street music performance, break dance and more!

The street parade will be done in cooperation with the Tbilisi Cyclists Cl=
ub and an international
group of 30 young cyclists from Netherlands, Hungary, Estonia, Moldova, Ar=
menia and Georgia. They
are in Georgia for one week for the =93Biking Beyond Borders Goes East=94 =
=96project organized by the
Dutch organization Falkor I.C.Y. and the Georgian organization =91APD=92.

Why are we doing this?
Our environment is our responsibility. We as young people, students and ev=
en as consumers CAN
exercise our power, but only after we realize we have power as an individu=
al of group of
individuals. Unfortunately not everyone is aware of their power and their =
choices. Critical
thinking or being active as a young person for charitable causes, for prot=
ection of the environment
or to promote democratic values is not considerate to be =93COOL=94. Time =
for CHANGE. With the
Footprints Festival we want to show that making a choice in life is not on=
ly for politicians, movie
stars and the rich & famous. It is also about us! We will combine music wi=
th information, having a
good time with raising awareness, being cool with standing up for what you=
 believe in!!!!!!!!
